Jane Renwick and the Power of Competence and Belief

In sectors where logistics, compliance and boardroom decision-making have historically been male-dominated, progress is rarely loud. It is built through credibility, technical command and sustained performance. Jane Renwick’s career reflects exactly that.

With more than 30 years in bonded warehousing and fine wine logistics, Jane began at Octavian Wine Services before rising to become Fine Wine Director at London City Bond (LCB). Today, she oversees some of the UK’s most significant fine wine facilities, including Eton Park (the chosen storage site for us here at Cult & Boutique), Melksham, Dinton Woods and the underground Drakelow Tunnels site, environments responsible for safeguarding collections under tightly controlled temperature, humidity and security conditions. These sites serve thousands of global investors and merchants, operating with advanced compliance frameworks, HMRC excise approvals, and highly sophisticated logistics systems.

This is not ceremonial leadership. It is operational, technical and commercial responsibility at scale.

As the first and only female board member at LCB, Jane has established her place at a table backed by decades of collective industry experience. In doing so, she has become a visible example of what long-term authority looks like in a sector where women have historically been underrepresented at senior level.

For Cult & Boutique, our relationship with Jane and LCB is built on trust, alignment and shared standards. As a fine wine investment and management firm, secure bonded storage is not peripheral to our offering - it is foundational. Our clients’ collections require precision handling, regulatory compliance, transparent reporting and impeccable environmental control. Facilities such as Eton Park play a critical role in protecting the integrity, provenance and long-term value of those assets.

Working alongside Jane and her team gives us confidence not simply in infrastructure, but in stewardship. Her oversight of fine wine sites ensures that the operational backbone supporting our clients’ portfolios is as robust as the investment strategy behind them.

Beyond infrastructure, Jane is also a committed advocate for education and professional development within the sector. Through support of programmes such as the Bonded Warehousekeepers Association (BWA) Certification, with its emphasis on customs and excise expertise, she champions a simple but powerful principle: belief follows competence. In industries built on regulation and risk management, technical mastery is empowerment.

International Women’s Day often highlights breakthroughs. Jane’s career demonstrates another form of progress: longevity, consistency and earned influence. Three decades of experience. Strategic control of nationally significant fine wine facilities. A sustained presence at board level.

In her own words, more women need to believe in themselves, regardless of who else sits around the boardroom table. It is a measured statement, but it carries weight. Confidence in environments like these is not performative; it is built through knowledge, resilience and the willingness to stay in the room.

Jane Renwick’s impact the kind that widens opportunity. And for those of us who work alongside her, it is proof that ceilings in this industry are not simply discussed - they are steadily raised.
